Candy Sparks
Executive Director

Candy comes to the Trust with a broad range of experience in missions, education, and legal services. She combines twenty years of overseas mission work in developing countries with years of experience in the field of education as a professor, consultant, and manager of educational systems.

  • Candy comes to the Trust with a broad range of experience in missions, education, and legal services. Candy has lived in Egypt, Cyprus and Switzerland as well as Ohio, Hawaii, Texas and Colorado. She combines twenty years of overseas mission work in developing countries with years of experience in the field of education as a professor, consultant, and manager of educational systems. She also served as the Coordinator of Colorado Legal Services for Gunnison County for more than ten years which afforded her the opportunity to interact regularly with the media, provide leadership in the community and develop resources for county and state projects. Candy attends New Life Downtown in Colorado Springs. She has been married to Doug for 50years, and they have three married children and eight grandchildren.

Lori Drexler
Program Officer

Lori joined the Crowell Trust in 2012 as our first program officer. Her role is to assist the Executive Director in grant-making processes and engage in relational development with organizations that are affiliated with the Crowell Trust.

Prior to returning to Colorado, Lori lived in Southern California where she worked as a program officer for First Fruit, Inc. for seven years. Originally from Northwest Indiana, Lori is a graduate of Indiana University and completed her MA in Global Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary. Lori is blessed to have two teenage daughters with whom she enjoys hiking, camping and skiing in the Rocky Mountains.

Angela Hunter
Program Support Officer

Angela joined the trust in 2013 as a part-time employee. She assists Candy and Lori in all aspects of the grants & assists with the vetting of the applications by reviewing the financial health of the organizations we fund.

  • Angela joined the trust in 2013 as a part-time employee. She assists Candy and Lori in all aspects of the granting particularly with respect to making sure the office runs smoothly and grant payments are made- she also assists with the vetting of the applications by reviewing the financial health of the organizations we fund. Angela has 3 children and has been married to Allen for 26 years. Angela has taught high school mathematics, has her master’s degree in Educational Leadership and is currently doubling as a real-estate agent in the Colorado Springs market. Angela loves the sunshine and time with family which means she spends time hiking, riding a tandem bike, and gardening.
